Totally Random Thursday Night

1. Chris Noth is returning to television. He'll be playing a lousy, cheating husband in The Good Wife on CBS this fall. But who cares? It's Chris Noth for christ's sake. And remember, Sex and the City the movie the sequel Part Deuce (or whatever they are calling it) will be out next May *fingers crossed*. And just in case you were living under a rock when it was announced, you can read all about it here. I'm too excited for words for the sequel, but at least I'll have the TV series to entertain me in the meanwhile.

2. I'm very bummed and humbled by the passing of the legendary John Hughes. The Breakfast Club is my most favorite movie of all time. (Hello, where did you think the "basket case" came from?) Even though I was on the tail end of the John Hughes generation, I remember my older brother and sister watching those movies over and over again. RIP John Hughes. You touched a generation.

3. I seriously hope you guys have been watching NYC Prep. It just happens to be one of the best time wasting shows on television. It totally makes me wish I owned a time machine. I would love to be 15 again, only if I were 1. extremely wealthy, 2. living in Manahattan, and 3. had my own American Express (that the parents paid, of course). I totally have a strange love/hate relationship with Jessie and I think PC is totally bisexual. I love him.

It's a shame that all my random thoughts are television related. And that I could go on and on about all the wonderful shows I'm watching these days (The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Drop Dead Diva, Army Wives)

Oh, I almost forgot.

4. Paula Abdul. I just can't believe that she's leaving American Idol. I mean, I need her Xanax'd out self telling the girls just how great they look after they've given a god awful performance because she doesn't have the heart to tell them they suck. I truly think she'll end up coming back. If, for the sole reason, that the Kara girl, doesn't have a mind of her own. She says everything that Randy says without the "dawgs" and "for me's". Someone needs to start a petition.

Say No to Kara.

That's all for tonight (which is now technically this morning).

American Idol in Concert: A Visual

No pain, no gain?

I've been thinking about my new job (ALOT) and I realize that this is an opportunity to makeover my image. OK, maybe makeover is a strong word - I'll try again. This is an opportunity to actually wake up every morning, shower, blow dry my hair, put on a bra makeup, and maybe wear something other than a ratty t-shirt and shorts that could easily be rejected from Salvation Army.

So, I decided to have my nails done. As in, go have someone glue on a fake nail tip and add chemicals to make me look like all the other Southern women in town.

To make a long story short, the woman who did my nails must moonlight as a Gitmo torturer. She practically maimed me. I tried my best not to complain because I didn't want her talking about me to her co-workers in a language I don't know right in front of my face.

Which would go something like this:

This fat bitch can't take it. I'm hardly drawing blood with this drill. Maybe I'll charge her $10 more!

All the while looking straight at me and smiling a very sweet smile.

To top it all off, she filed them all wrong. Like totally square. And not just a little square, I mean really square. But I didn't dare ask her to round the tips. I was afraid my fingers would be so sore that I wouldn't be able to wipe properly for at least 24 hours.

I'll post a picture of my new nails tomorrow. For now, I'm headed to bed.

Night all!

My New J.O.B.

I have a new job!!!

I was offered a position with a local high school (the best one in town, BTW) to teach Health Science Technology. I am so excited!

Of course, I'll have to get certified to teach while working this school year, but I haven't taken classes in so long that I really think I will enjoy it.

I'm really hoping this turns in to my dream job. (Or pretty close to it.) I love to teach and I'll be teaching a subject I already know well.

I hope to post all the crazy moments of my daily interactions with my teenage students. I better start watching all my Dawson's Creek reruns to get me prepared.

My Latest Excuse

So for the past month, I've been more obsessed with the way my blog looks that actually posting anything. I feel like I have several excuses.

  1. My husband just came home from Iraq. It's much easier to play with my layout than actually think to post.
  2. To be honest, I'm afraid of posting too much of my thoughts here for the world to read. I'm typically very reserved and introverted. I keep most thoughts to myself. *snicker* Ok, that's so NOT true. I just thought I'd try it on for size.
But seriously, I feel like I'm 13 years old again and writing in my diary. I'm afraid of people getting too close and reading my innermost feelings.

I need to just let go and blog. Vent. Tell the world my three followers how I really feel about life.

More later. The child wants me to get into bed with her.

Night.

More of "Kate"

I'm sorry. I can't seem to help myself.
